All New Pajero Announced
For many Australian drivers, the Pajero name brings back memories of family road trips, weekends away and adventures well beyond the bitumen.
Now, after several years away from the global market, Mitsubishi has unveiled an all-new Pajero, with Australia included in its return.
First introduced in 1982, Pajero became one of Mitsubishi’s most recognised nameplates around the world. The new generation has a big legacy to follow, but rather than simply looking to the past, Mitsubishi has developed its new flagship 4WD around modern capability, comfort and technology.
A New Pajero for a New Generation
There’s no mistaking the new Pajero for the model that came before it. Its upright proportions, broad grille and distinctive lighting give it a much stronger, more contemporary presence while retaining the purposeful stance expected of a Pajero.
Underneath the new body is a ladder-frame platform, with Mitsubishi again positioning Pajero as a genuine adventure-ready 4WD rather than simply reviving a familiar badge.
Built to Go Beyond the Bitumen
The new Pajero brings Mitsubishi’s four-wheel-drive technology into a new generation, with Super Select 4WD-II, S-AWC and selectable drive modes among the technology announced for the vehicle.
For Australian families who use their 4WD for touring, towing or simply getting away for the weekend, it is encouraging to see genuine capability remaining central to the new Pajero.
A More Refined Place to Travel
While Pajero has always been associated with adventure, Mitsubishi has also placed considerable emphasis on comfort and refinement. The cabin introduces a modern digital display layout, contemporary connectivity and a more premium overall design.
It is a very different cabin from Pajeros of the past, but the underlying idea remains familiar: create a vehicle capable of taking the family a long way from home without making the journey there feel like hard work.
